At some point, a role can look objectively “good” , solid compensation, stable company, reasonable scope, but still not feel quite right. For those who’ve made a move despite having a “good” job, what ultimately pushed you to leave?

I left a good job because it didn’t feel quite right, like you said. It’s still hard for me to explain why I left to this day, but it’s like the whole pornography definition - “you know it when you [feel] it”

Growth opportunities. I liked my job but felt I wasn't being given the chance to grow. I was worried that I would fall behind my peers and struggle to find a job.

Have an interesting scenario. Holiday party season is approaching. At one of our parties (during working hours) there is an optional “talent show.” Employees can win door prizes. We have an entry that is a religious song - like one you would sing in church. I assume we need to let this employee perform this - or we are setting ourselves up for trouble. Likewise, if we permit this song, I assume we cannot compel attendance to the talent show. The talent show is part of a lunch thing.

I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week.
