Hello everyone! I am unable to put the work that I’ve been doing as case studies on a portfolio site, even if password protected. I was thinking about making a slideshow style case study on Figma. Is it better to send it in a PDF format anyway or can a Figma link work?

I have applied through deloitte usi careers portal and attended 2 technical interviews, in careers portal status has changed from interview in progress to review in progress..what to expect? I still didnt get feedback for 2 nd technical round..

I have a Microsoft onsite interview coming up for an SDE1/2 role. Any tips from current employees or people who took the interview before on how I can prepare for this? I have been doing top leetcode questions for the technical portion but I am not sure how hard the questions can be and how they pick their questions. Also not sure what kind of systems design high level questions/answers they're looking for.

So I'm interviewing, have had loose salary conversation (talked about band but not specifics), and approaching the official offer stage. It's become clear the role is something I'm very well qualified for, but their pay expectations for the role are much lower than mine. How do I ask if I could be considered for a higher level position in the team in a higher salary band instead?

I have total 9 years of experience in IT as a Linux Admin with last 3 years being an AWS Cloud Architect working in on-prem to cloud migration and BAU activities. My next interview is probably gonna be an HR round for salary discussion. How much should I ask for or expect to be ideal for my expertise. I have AWS Solutions Architect Associate as well as Professional certification.

What do you all do to make non-professional / personal connections? Particularly with the Coronavirus, and being in domestic relations, I wake up, go to work, work out, go home. So outside of law, my interactions with people are only at the gym given that my area is draining— particularly at the moment. Probably a good thing for now; but if we take coronavirus out of the equation, I’m interested what others in the community do to develop personal connections.

I am a Chartered accountant and truth be told given the current times CA is a really low incentive education any potent person can get. Today I see engineers barely with a few years of experience earning lakhs per month. Whereas me despite being in the right place at the right time is working hard 10-11 hours each day even today. So I have a case study interview coming up with a consultancy.

I have received the task 2 days before the interview which says I have to only spend 25mins on building a high level prototype, also the case study topic is quite hypothetical (like it won't happen in reality).

But I was wondering if anyone has thoughts on approaching it or expectations on the prototype.

Are you supposed to send a thank you email after the second round interview? What if you don’t have their email, would you contact the recruiter? Or is it unnecessary

I’m worried my portfolio has too much detail- I’m more of a design strategist/ UX research person so I want to show my process since I don’t have outputs to share. Any advice?

I had a really weird interview for Creative Director today.

It’s a small startup. HR interviewed me and asked all the hard hitting questions (how do you get design inspiration, how do you deal with design roadblocks, what sets you apart for this role?) which I thought was odd for a screening interview.

They made some affirmative noises then said the next step would be a design test (one pager) which I would present to a panel of interviewers including the CMO.
Anyone else think this is odd?

Can we say that AKQA is a design-driven company (or is it more a consultancy company with design teams in it)?

How would you define it? 🙃

Does certifications for design matter? Like for UX design?

Does quitting a agency 9-5 to go freelance temporarily look bad on a resume? Times are uncertain but if I quit tomorrow and ended up looking for another agency job in 6 months would that be a turnoff to future employers?
