I’ve been a fed contractor for less than 4 years, everything before was private sector. I have really enjoyed my time as a contractor, the work that I do, and the clients I support. But all this uncertainty is very difficult for me. Yes, I have been thinking of going back to private. But we’ll see! Counting my blessings, very grateful to still have a job, and I feel for those who have lost their positions. In any case - it’s always a good idea to see what else is out there and not put all your eggs in one basket.
I am on a keep the lights on contracts that impacts people getting paid. Not saying anymore than that but when they don’t get paid - lots of noise happens. Just have to weather the storm. I am leaning towards in the next year or so going private industry. I have great skillset that can go both ways. Government contracting was just more stable than the dot com blowout which is when I got into it
Honestly debating jumping to private, but the stability isn’t always better over there either. Are you seeing any sectors in federal contracting that seem safer right now?
