To be honest - 23 ish. And I have reduced my routine to just augustinus bader light cream - that’s it. I then add sun screen. It’s expensive but boy does it work for me.
Sunscreen is the number one most important. Find a daily one and then move up from there. Retinol is probably a good second step
Second this. Daily spf is your friend
29. I have a list of starters for when people ask where to start. Feel free to DM and I can send.
Use sunscreen everyday! I recommend the Korean sunscreen (eg round lab). And use a retinol cream at night.
Daily sunscreen, moisturizer, and prescription tretinion are really the only things that make a difference.

For me it was in high school. I never had an acne problem, but my mother started sending me to a dermatologist as a prophylactic measure when I was 14. Perhaps it worked…Though I was never big on sunscreen. I spent so much time by the pool and ocean (and tanning salons back in the day) that that kind of went by the wayside.
I started investing in skincare at age 26. I predominantly use exfoliating cleansers and sheet masks for hydration. I prefer products that focus on radiance and brightening over anti-aging or moisturizing. I have combination skin, and I still get mistaken for late 20s/early 30s at age 40.

Late 20’s, 42 now. I’ve been using Rx tretinoin since then… one tube lasts a whole year. It’s all you need plus any run of the mill drugstore moisturizer.
If you have an HSA/FSA there are sunscreens you can buy with your pretax funds! My go-to is Paula's Choice, https://www.paulaschoice.com/resist-youth-extending-daily-hydrating-fluid-spf-50/780-7800.html
In the morning I wash my face in the shower with Amore Pacific, you only need a tiny dab of the powder and it smells great. It's a great exfoliator pre-shave, https://us.amorepacific.com/products/treatment-enzyme-peel-cleansing-powder
At night before bed, I wash my face with Lunese Nano Cyclic, I use the pink because I'm 45 but the silver is great for oily skin or acne, https://lunese.com/index.php?sec=product/category&path=1_8
The French make a skin lotion/toner that smells appalling but it's incredible for your skin. I apply it once a day at bedtime and wash it off in the morning because the smell is, uh, unique: https://www.biologique-recherche.com/en-us/skin-care/cosmetic-preparation/Lotion-P50V-1970/
