Haven’t done it yet but starting to look into it. Cost is basically made up of GC comp, agency fees (unless you DIY which was too overwhelming for me), legal fees, medical bills and/or insurance for the GC. All in, it runs around $100k give or take. The other thing to consider is timing. It could take months or even a year plus to match with a GC so keep that in mind as you start the process.

I’m also looking into it. 100k is a good ballpark estimate for US surrogacy with an agency. Overseas it can be done for 50-70k depending on the market. Sticker shock for sure but if the end result is a healthy baby it will be worth it.
My best friend did it and spent ~$300k - sold a condo - to do it all.
I don’t want to shock you or tell you this is what it will def cost, but want to prepare you for things that can come up along the way, just in case. This is a real story.
Some of the costs:
-Many IVF rounds (covered by insurance, but not everything), including flying to and from a clinic in another state
-Surrogate fee + agency fee — this was the bulk of the expense
-12 months of cobra for surrogate ($2,500/month)- contract included being responsible for 6 months post pregnancy; surrogate’s husband quit his job in the middle of the pregnancy and surrogate had anemia / required more care
-travel to and from another state throughout pregnancy - surrogacy is not legal in all states, so surrogate lived in a diff state than my friend
At the end of the day, my “niece” is a 6 year old, supremely intelligent, beautiful, little girl. Crazy experience, but it led to this amazing human.
Holy cow but yea I get it. It sounds like it was all worth it in the end! 💗
