I’m looking to transition into HR business partner role. I only have about 6 months of recruiting experience and tons of sales experience before that. Any tips on how I can make the transition and what type of compensation I should be targeting?
P&C focused people: What do you do to find success cross-selling life policies? I mostly sell P&C off internet leads. Most are not the ideal client for my company but I take care of them like I would anyone else. I do okay but not great with life after having the client for six months once I move them into a preferred policy. That move saves them enough to make life doable coupled with established trust. I’ve been told just to quote the auto and life together initially but it feels “off” to me.

This year was super busy, it was impossible to take leaves. Are we going to get special extension to use our days until June or sth? (Like we had 2 years ago). That would seem fair to me after getting my holidays declined so many times.

What determines strike price?
I view equity in startups as a potential future bonus. Currently, I’m evaluating a seed funded private tech startup that is net positive with a couple million $$ in annual revenue. I’ve been offered a few hundred options and am trying to understand if their strike price ($$$) is fair or not. What additional details would you ask the employer to share in order to determine if the equity offer is market competitive or not?
Additional Posts in UX & Product Design
Hi, all! I am an emerging UX designer and I would love some tips and ideas for polishing up my resume and portfolio so I can get my first real job. What advice can you give a junior designer to stand out from the crowd?
Does anyone know about salaries at Liebherr?
Is it normal for a Product Owner to lay out specs for how a feature should work?
I thought that was my job as the ux designer to figure out the best way to solve a need. But I’m getting handed projects where the PO, and sometimes the senior designer has laid out exactly what should happen (components used, flow, etc) to design a feature. It’s really frustrating because I don’t know if I’m supposed to be speaking up on what I think or just do the UI work I’m asked to.
I have the option of switching from a lead UX designer to a principle UX designer in my current company. How will this title change be looked upon by recruiters/hiring managers on LinkedIn or at the next company I apply to? Would the pay bands be higher or lower?
I have a $1200 stipend for learning at my work - Any suggestions from fellow Product Designers for recommendations?

Hi! I'm new to fishbowl :)
I'm frustrated with the resources for advanced product designers to technically grow. Mentorship and critique sections with more senior people beyond working hours are exasuting thing to invest in. With I could study by myself.
Any recommendation for self-service content for advanced professionals?
I’ve been interviewing with Google since July. Passed the first interview but the team I was matched with ended up hiring someone else. Recruiter told me that she will let me know if any other opportunities arise as I’m still in the running and haven’t been rejected. I know that interviewing with google is a long process but I’m worried the longer I wait the more likely I will be rejected or just never hear back. Anyone else in this situation? How long until you got an offer?
Does anyone do part time product design freelancing? Can you tell me your experience and how you find clients/work? What does your work schedule look like?Looking to maybe transition to doing pt time but don’t know where to start. Thanks!
Any recommendations on good online courses for someone looking to explore Ux design? I am a service designer looking to learn more about ux design to broaden my design experience. I am looking for courses that help you build a portfolio and eventually land a job in product and experience design. I am checking out product design courses at dribble, Brian station and careerfoundry but haven’t found more independent reviews or comparisons.
I'm currently working in Architecture working on transitioning into UX Design. I took a UX class through UCLA Extension for a quarter and so far (from a fairly objective view) I'm ahead of the game than the rest of my peers since I already have a lot of transferrable skills like software & design skills. I'm planning to take one more quarter of class. Will that be enough to put together a portfolio along with architecture pieces?
I’m looking for any good recommendations around problem framing (books, resources, frameworks, etc.) What are you people doing to nail identifying product problems, before moving into shaping? Cheers!
