No way! Thanks for sharing this OP. I'm a huge Severance fan but totally missed this madness. Good madness, of course. How they pull off things like this in NYC is beyond me.
We're always suggesting OOH ideas but budgets are always a hinderance. The last time we got a green flag on an OOH idea was 2 years ago. We're also a very social-first agency so it's not a normal occurrence for us.
Imagine the talent fees alone for this idea are higher than most people get for their entire budget for an activation.
That probably wasn't difficult to set up. The people running the station (who already rent space to Apple) were probably happy to host it. And getting the actors there is no more difficult than getting them on a morning show. But with the stunt made for viral exposure, it obviously gets more attention with the audience it wants to reach.
I think this would fall under experiential more than OOH? But that’s a technicality. Totally agree, this was so great. I was only able to see it the second day and unfortunately it was not the original cast 😓
