It can take time to ramp up, especially if you know the whole group is slow. I'd say don't sweat it too much until after the holidays. If you're still super slow in February, start to worry.

Ok since you said you started in September, I think you are fine as long as you are asking for work and doing what comes in asap (not sitting on it bc your day isn't full).
Are other junior associates in your practice group experiencing similar issues? It’s surprising that there isn’t enough work at a V5 firm. That suggests there may be a broader business or workflow imbalance in your office, which could raise some concerns about long-term prospects.
