That’s a personal decision only you can make
It depends, if the move is from T2 -> T2/MBB it should be neutral transition but if it’s other way round then it’s a step down in pay, culture and overall prestige!
I think India consulting has more prestige than ME…

Obviously India is superior in maturity - I don’t know what you’re doing in an extremely underdeveloped and impoverished country.
Gulf states would kill to have a ginormous mountain-sized landfill and roads that work just as well for civilians as they do with vehicles in their capital cities. One can only dream.

I am in the same boat but the only difference is that i am in Saudi.

I think it depends on the seniority of your position as well?
I mean if you are an analyst / jr consultant - the skill set you are picking up in ME is not exactly what’s gonna form you as a consultant and I am sure the Indian market will be more practical
Besides, a move to India does not seem to be that bad. I am no Indian and I know there is some prejudice (sometimes deserved, frequently not), but the country has the potential and is likely to grow immensely in the next 10-20 years, growing the relations there and just being exposed to the high potential market seems nice if you are ready to play long term.
I mean just the number of exit opps and their diversity will be hugely more attractive than in the region even if consulting there is more painful.
If you are closer to Sr Manager/AP level, then the amount of money lost in absolute terms is just too significant to neglect and I’d stay
Obviously I am not in your shoes and oversimplify things too much
