Given your title, I assume you’re a specialist.
What’s going to happen most often is that the corporate team/client will not understand your requests, or the reason behind them. Be prepared to explain them as many times as necessary.
As regards deal flow and timeline. Don’t be afraid to pick up the phone and call the corporate team and ask. They won’t bite. Usually there will be someone the same level as you (junior/midlevel/senior) so find this person ans talk to them.
Take good notes and provide updates as the info comes in, don't wait for a request from the seniors (unless they tell you to do that). Keep a separate to do list if it is a bigger transaction, make sure you spend at least a little bit of time on it every day so nothing slips through the cracks. Do the heavy lifting of doc review ASAP, make sure doc review is never something that holds up the timeline.
