Anyone else have the issue thatyour company overpays for new hires that often don't last a year but will not even pay existing employees anything close to similar rates for the same job or even jobs higher up ?

Anyone else struggling with feeling like their life is just completely out of balance? Feel like a lot of us have been working more than ever and besides the holidays I feel like my life has been work / sleep / a little bit of time for working out + talking to friends / repeat for a really long time. I’m definitely reminiscent for college and pre pandemic times when i had more time for seeing friends, hobbies, etc and those weren’t restricted by the pandemic

I'm currently a commercial insurance broker working in Dublin, Ireland & I'm extremely interested in traveling abroad. Hoping to go to the US.

I have four years of experience in large firms, I'm fully certified in Ireland, I have a first class honours degree business degree, where I majored in Risk Management & Insurance.

Is it difficult to find a job as an expat, are there many barriers to entry & what states would be the best bet?

When will the older generations realize they’re losing this battle on remote work? People don’t stay 40 years at the same place anymore because it’s “safe”. People will just leave nowadays. And it’s exactly what people are doing. My company can’t hire ANYONE because we don’t offer a hybrid even. On the flip side, we’re losing people in masses at this point and can’t fill any of the roles because the owner (who works remotely) won’t allow it. But “no one wants to work”. Biggest lie of 2022.

I just switched jobs only to find out their processes and software are outdated. I’m afraid that I will lose my skills in the new automation and marketing platforms like HubSpot. I asked if there was a chance to upgrade but it’s all done through corporate. Ily old job was tech savvier but my boss was a terrible micromanager. I’m thinking just stick around for 2-3 years. Maybe.

I’m a mentor for a summer associate who I believe could be a great lawyer here (V100, small market if that matters). However, it is apparent he has no understanding of technology (redlines, word, excel). Based on his background, I believe it’s due to a lack of access. Would you ever recommend to your firm that he be given a course to catch up? Should I try and get him training on my own? Stay out of it? I dont want to overstep but believe this would help him as this puts him way behind his peers

Hello, I am thinking about moving to southern california from NJ. I am getting quite overwhelmed with apartment/house hunting (rental). I am specifically looking for 2 BR, 1 or 2 bath in the $2,400-$2,750. $3,000 is ok if there is two bathrooms. We want to make sure we are in an area with good public schools for my pre-schooler. Is it wise to negotiate a "take it or leave it" offer? Also, when there is such an offer, do you think that company really looking to hire you? It does not encourage any communication which gives an impression that they do not need you but if you join at their offer, they are okay. To put things in perspective, offer is inline with industry average but slightly lower than what I am making right now.

Is it normal to get a 50-80k raise for a promotion within a company?? I heard someone say they had 2 offers within a company so both teams were fighting for them, and another offer outside of the company, so his current company bumped his pay from $110k OTE to $180k.
