Hello, licensed architect & NCIDQ-certified ID here. Curious what you all have done (beyond licensure & certification) to boost your salary most effectively? Currently bringing in $67k with 6 years of postgrad experience which feels…….low. Are my expectations too high??

98 almost 99k base salary in San Diego, CA not including the bonuses or OT… is this too low or reasonable?

Does anyone feel that the Oil and Gas industry is the most discriminatory industry of all? They won’t even look at resume without O&G experience! It does not make sense to me as I would rather teach someone the specifics of an industry if they were a good fit. And for an industry that has so many obstacles from Government, Environmental Organizations and so on, why they are adding more bad publicity to themselves is not a great approach.

I got a call from KPMG HR for the role of Associate consultant in research team, When she asked me about the expected ctc, I think I quoted less than the market standards but since I am underpaid currently so the amount I quoted was 40-45% hike on my fixed. I have experience of 2.9years
Can anybody please suggest if I clear their interviews will they consider increasing CTC from whatever I quoted becase upon searching for ACon roles they pay much higher than what I quoted.

Started a new role. For 9 years I was the go-to for every question for my team. It was exhausting and I was killing myself to please everyone, but I also kind of thrived on it. Now I’m the new kid on the block, know nothing, and feel like I’m adding very little value to my current firm pulling half the hours. I know eventually I will get up to speed and pull my weight. Feeling guilty for accepting a paycheck knowing I’m not adding value yet. Anyone else?

Whenever I got promoted to digital ACD a few years ago, I noticed my pay was much lower than I expected for the market I’m in, hard to find skillsets, performance, and visibility I’ve brought to the agency. I’ve brought this up a few times and was told HR would do research into salary equity, but the convo always fades. LMAO what do Afro Latinos look like? I just asked a creative to include more pictures of Afro-Latinos in our hispanic messaging and she said "I tried to find pictures of videos that looked authentic but they didn't have the right look, it's a very specific look". So no black people in the ad cause this white passing lady needs to gate keep who looks latina enough. The blond, blue eyed women in the photos passed though... UGHH.
