I liked it! I think it was more of a movie made for adults. I loved the meaning of finding out what makes you love life and to just live it
It's a good movie. But if you're expecting it to be the next big Black movie you'll be very disappointed.

It’s Hollywood. I don’t expect much.
I liked it! It was a deviation for them but very necessary for cultural consciousness. Plus it was beautiful to look at. Def not a kids movie though, too high level.
Haven’t watched it; but from what I’ve seen and read from woke Twitter, it is a good movie.
The Callout is simply for movie makers to be aware of the possible negative underlying stories and narrative of a white woman inhabiting the body of a black person. Especially with the kind of year we’ve had relating to racism, social justice, etc.
It doesn’t have to be either or; you can have a good movie and still point areas of improvement for future stories.

Very true, and I agree. I just don’t deem the film ‘superbad’ because its faults.
I really really enjoyed it. The animation is *chefs kiss* The plot was on point - it was a little turbulent sometimes when it came to balancing 22s and Pianists storylines.
11/10 will be rewatching, it might even be an new fav.
I have heard that black twitter has issues with it. I’mma leave it to them to fight those issues. I want to sit this social justice point out. I’ve fought other battles, I will enjoy this one.
Essentially I’m making it a point to not negate other black folks opinions on it while still sitting in my own truth 😉
I enjoyed it. Watched it twice. In the film, they made a humorous reason for using Tina Fey’s voice, but I would’ve loved to see them fully commit to a Black Pixar film with 2 Black leads.

Soul 2? Noooooooo! Not every movie needs a sequel.
Yay yay yay!!! Sweet story which I watched with my whole family.
It’s ambitious animated film that reminds one of the Story of Me. It’s not earth shattering and problematic if you read too deeply into it but it’s absolutely solid.
