1 year may be exceptional. And mid of the year is also very exceptional. But 24 months is standard criteria in EY. Check with your counsellor.

OP you should've discussed it during your year end review. You can still try now but there's a good chance it won't help at this last moment.
EY follows the July to June performance cycle. The year end discussion happens around April end to May. That's when you should've discussed about your progression with counselor.
Most people in the company will get their progression/promotion around this time. The progression/promotion starts reflecting in system from October.
Only in special cases for top performers there's off cycle or agile promotions.
