Can someone please help mentor me?

I deal with a team that I ask for help to show me how to do something after requesting a task to be done. I am happy to work on the task and learn. All they do is make sure to cover their butt by making an e-mail trail showing the bare minimum of information and expect me to get a task done. After, I tell them I need you to show me how to get the task done and shadow me in order for me to get the task done 15-20min.

I feel like I am drowning daily.
