They have in mind how they think things should be done, and currently it’s not being done that way. Now that’s because the current people in those roles aren’t doing what the founder wants in the way he wants which can be attributed to A) The founder doesn’t have a clue how it works and is asking the people currently in those roles to do something that can’t or shouldn’t be done or B) The current people don’t know what they are doing or they aren’t getting the proper guidance to execute how they are being expected.
Either way it sounds like it could be a bit toxic.
You and your direct reports need to go after big gun features that differentiate or close the gap between you and your competitors.

The Founder feels the current employees are not executing to his / her vision in a big enough and fast enough way. Ultimately it sounds like the Founder is getting concerned that the promises made on what this company would deliver aren’t being delivered. There are many different reasons this can happen but sounds like an uphill challenge on misaligned expectations or abilities. If you like a challenge this could be a great opportunity but is highly risky depending on what is causing the misalignment.
