So I applied for a position & received feedback from the hiring manager stating that the position that I applied for was filled internally but they would like consider me for another position. So I interviewed and two days later, I was offered the position. Went through a background check & negotiated salary. It’s been almost 2 months and they stated that the delay is due to internal HR issues since the dept director did not create a new job requisition for the job they offered me. Thoughts?

Hi everyone. I’m graduating law school in two weeks from a Midwestern state school. My partner has recently accepted a position at a big four accounting firm in New York, and I’ve been applying to attorney positions in that market for months now with no luck. Alumni connections haven’t gotten me very far either. Is there something I’m missing? Something I should be doing differently? I have great academic credentials albeit at a mid-ranked state school. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
