Hey all - first year associate here… I’ve met my hours requirement for this year (requirement is 1900 and am currently at around 2050 with billable hours - approx. 2160 with non billable admin hours) and I am just tired. Is it okay to just “disappear” during the holidays (thanksgiving week, week of Christmas) and let partners and senior associates know I am not available? At this point I don’t care about making more money - I just want to sleep, read a good trashy book, and cuddle with my dog.

Where can someone trying to enter the industry find 1:1 mentoring?

Mental health is really tanking so hard. Working with this person who is also my coach. This person has way too high expectation for me - expects me to know everything because I was on the account before. I want to look for other options but can’t really move freely due to visa restrictions. I feel hopeless, tired, and depressed. I don’t know what to do.

How are people dealing with WFH isolation? I feel like I shell of a person having not been around people for a year. I don’t think teams really care to talk about anything either.

I need some classroom management ideas for middle school kiddos. I've tried everything in my bag of tricks and my students are constantly off task and disruptive.

What are some of your favorite historical fiction books you've incorporated into your lessons? I love The Book Thief!

My kids got the one-paragraph responses down pack. We use C-E-R like our ELA and Science counter-parts. Can anyone share a resource for teaching extended responses? Need a structure similar to CER to teach 3 paragraph responses to social studies document based questions. (Been trying to find one for 8years)
