In all of my classes (USH, Econ and AP Econ), I try to approach learning with game-based or project-based assessments. In US for instance you can have students create a board game that demonstrates the progress and setbacks of the Civil Rights movement. In Econ there are a ton of simulations you can lead. Look up "Pearl Exchange" and "Handshake Market" on Youtube as well as the Job Jungle and Cartels & Competition. Big shout out to Jacob Clifford (best econ resource on the internet imho).
That's a LOT of preps!!! How long have you been teaching?
I agree about simulations in Econ. I used them quite a bit this year and they helped my kids a lot! "The Pearl Exchange" and "The Handshake Market" are good ones from Jacob Clifford. He has more videos about different simulations he does on his YouTube channel. You can look up his name or "AC/DC Econ".
