Clients keep acting like “Free Shipping!” is some groundbreaking promotion, but customers don’t see it that way at all. They don’t get excited when shipping is free; they just see it as normal and expected. What actually triggers emotion is the opposite: when they see a shipping fee, they feel like they’re getting nickeled-and-dimed or ripped off. Thoughts?

PSA - We are headed into a self-imposed economic slow down. Now is not the time to lateral but if you do, I would make sure you are at a recession-proof practice or firm. The top law firms will be okay (they always are) but if you are part of a larger group of associates with no work, you are likely to be axed. Latham did it in the 2008 and 2011 and it will happen again. If you are an associate or really anyone but a rainmaker, you are expendable.
