All the big pharma agencies I know in NYC are in WFH. So yeah, big red flag there.
Is there anything less essential than advertising?
Might print this and hang it over my desk
I think it is a red flag.I do a lot of pharma work and I’ve been doing it from home for the last year. “Essential” 🙄. If you have a bad gut feeling don’t go for it. Remember, the interview process is also for you to see if you want to work there or not.
The HR lady on the phone said they stay in office because “it’s just very difficult to handle remotely”. Sounds more like stubbornness, and unwilling to value your employees.
I’m guessing the owner was a Trump supporter.
SVP1, you’re a great example of functional illiteracy. No one said it’s Trump’s fault, it’s just a remark about Trump voters’s mentality. People that love a fraudulent, failed business man, wouldn’t have any problem being as bad as he is in managing a business. It’s that simple.
Yes. I work in pharma and none of the reputable shops that do pharma work are forcing anyone to be in the office.
Yeah, I’m calling b.s. The leadership most likely found a loophole in the rule on essential businesses to keep their shop open. They are not people I’d want to work for. People who are so blatantly willing to put their bottom line over people’s lives.
Keep looking. I know times are hard. But, don’t make them harder by working somewhere like this.

Truth!
Red flag 🚩🚩🚩🚩
Not only is it a red flag, it’s hilarious. It’s like saying we make car ads, so that makes us all mechanics.
Ok thanks for the feedback. It’s not a place I’d ever strive to work. I’m freelancing at a great place with potential for full time but just want to keep my options open in case worse comes to worse. It’s been a nightmare finding full time this past year.

Go in the office “Healthcare” 🤣. The employees will need healthcare after that.

Making ads for "essential" business does not make you an essential business. Retail is essential. Grocery stores are essential. Are those agencies making ads in the office? They are not. Because they are not slime and do not use being essential-adjacent as a loophole.
We’re all doctors in disguise, didn’t you know? We’re saving the world with our fair balance.
That would be a hard no for me.
