Leaving would hurt both my previous org and new org.

Really struggling with a few students in my kindergarten class this year and looking for suggestions. A new analyst has joined our team and we often give them models/ slides but don’t always ask them if they know all of the accounting principles to be able to make minute adjustments to EBITDA or free cash flow. We are a FIG platform, so the knowledge required is relatively unique as well and not as easy to google as corporate transactions. Is there a better way to coach the analyst short of just throwing them in the deep end to figure it out or should we wait for them to ask us for help?

Hi all, what’s a typical promote share for employee pools and individuals? Here are some stats to share on my end: $2-3b AUM sponsor, no commingled fund separate deals, 10-20% employee pool in any one deal, mostly real estate so long term investments 5-10years, I am personally getting on average 2.5% of the total pool.

Typically what fund size do you need to target to get $225k+ in total comp (base+bonus) as a 1Y Associate? HH’s are mentioning sub-200k salaries to me across all opportunities coming my way, LMM funds ($600M-$2B).

Interviews with a private credit / direct lending / distressed real estate group have been going on for 6 weeks and now I’m waiting for the the final decision. They said that they’ll review the case studies and make a decision soon but does anyone know how soon :((( I’m so tired and exhausted and I really want the job so much. Technical was last week and last interview was yesterday. It’s a reputable American company - how likely is it that they’ll make a decision in 2 days?

How useful is having worked with the PE practice (deal strategy, CDDs, etc.) of a consulting firm vs any other one when trying to break into PE? I understand it's probably better to come from such units but I wanted to understand in which ways it helps. Is it actually irreplaceable skills vs understanding of sector dynamics vs pure prestige?
