Ok rephrasing question after reading through some threads.
-50-200 bps of promote seem to be the norm depending on lots of factors
-whole dollars is what i think I’m more concerned with, lots of people quoting several 100k per year in effective earnings
-here’s some math that shows how difficult this would be for me:
-$20m promote on single deal (huge promote means $100m of profits on single real estate deal)
-I have 4% of employee pool on like sized deal
-$20m x 20% employee pool x 4% individual share = 160k
-2015 vintage deal, 7 years = 22k per year annually
-same math on more typical deal - $10m promote x 20% pool x 1% = 20k for 5 year deal
First is one of the larger deals and larger individual share, is this just a matter of scale? Or should individuals shares be larger set of points for smaller firm (~15 deal and AM related teams, ~15 in back office roles)
