This is what I have successfully negotiated in two moves in the last 3 years:
- joined a company in October, just in time to pick up 25% bonus eligibility - they gave me 100% bonus payout to cover what I’d walked away from.
- Signing bonus to cover lost LTIs - this was barely $0.30 on the dollar, but I was still 6 months from the next vesting period, so was was way better than nothing.
- matched my vacation allowance - 20 days was standard at new company, they gave me 25 to match my tenured allowance at previous company.
In both cases, I was unable to get any LTIs up front as these were board level approvals. No idea about pension, but I would not hold my breath.
