Currently in the US but interviewing for a UK-based firm and role. The comp level they are throwing around is £250k TC. Is this reasonable for a Director-level role with 12 YOE? My comparator would be wait 18-24mo to become a consulting partner - in the US that starts at $450k/£325k. For the purposes of this question, assume I’m optimizing for initial comp, not long term potential, and not livability, Intl experience, WLB, CoL etc. Thanks!
Haven't done this interview stuff in a while. Interviewing with Deloitte onsite soon, should you wear a suit during interview? Charcoal grey + white shirt + tie work?
Cold applied to McKinsey just for the hell of it. Got a call for a screening. Have no idea what to expect in the screen or overall interview process. Any tips/insights? (I’m now wishing I paid more attention to the MBB interview stuff in this app - I hear there’s a case? Haha 🤔)
I was interviewing with an agency last year - it didn’t work out because they needed someone more senior but was an overall really positive process on both sides - I still really admire the agency and the work and am ready to leave my current agency - is it pointless to reach back out?
Does anyone know how 'case studies' are like for data science interviews (industry, not consulting)?
Anyone heard anything from droga on their internship this summer? Happening? Not? Anyone being interviewed?
Hey everyone, I have been trying to break into the data science world as a strategy consultant. Have put in numerous hours after work and on weekends to learn programming/ DS and algorithms, ML, and statistics. I now have a pretty good resume of personal projects, but am having trouble getting any interviews. Should I go get an MS or keep on trying to find a job as a data scientist? Thank you for the advice.
My current firm is filing for H1B extension (and LCA) but at the same time, I am also interviewing and may potentially leave soon and my h1b will need to be transferred. Would this cause any issues?
Why do companies that clearly desperately need people think that assigning a take home case study that takes 10 hours will help their cause.... I will drop out in a heartbeat lol
Best excuse for interviewing ?
For strategists: Hardest interview question you’ve been asked. Go. (Please include your response!)
People that have transferred offices/service lines: Is it true that if you get past the HR stage and into the actual interview stage, you have a high probability of getting the offer?
Technical Screening for DDV OWT for an associate role for PwC. Does anyone have any tips for this part of the interview, haven't had a technical screen before.
Interviewing at EY and would like to gather info regarding current senior manager salaries, specifically in high COL area, for audit. Please also provide years of experience in the role. Many thanks in advance!
I was recently let go. When I interview, should I be upfront about this, or should I keep it vague — “looking for new opportunities”? It seems like it will come up when people ask why I’m leaving.
Used to clerk for a federal judge. Former judicial intern of judge just emailed me saying she’s interested in applying and would like to discuss my experience there? Am I allowed? I feel like I’ve never heard of people doing this. I can’t seem to think of a reason why I couldn’t speak to her but I feel like clerkships always have weird rules about them.
Okay, I seriously love the group I’m in - audit. Very happy. Could do it for life. Genuinely. Interacting with another group (advisory) - they’ve really come to like me. I got an unsolicited interview
Is it normal for companies to schedule more rounds of interviews with you after the on-site?
Had two great phone interviews last week with A&M. They seemed impressed and I thought I would be on the next round. Haven’t heard from them since. Wonder if Corona had an impact...
Does anyone know what PwC's health benefits are like? I am onboarding and the packet just says it covers up to 75% of a gym membership or something like that. I'll be in the NYC office too if that affects anything
HELP! Recently promoted M1, and a very low-performing staff is threatening to go to HR with harassment allegations as a means to protect herself from getting fired. Suggestions?
How much house can I afford? Single, I make 136, putting 19.5 into 401k, 6 into Roth, another 10 into stocks, and 2 into crypto/ year. Have savings of 35k and will use my bonus of 20k as well for down payment. decent properties in areas I would consider living start north of 325k. Am I better off waiting and saving more for a bigger down payment, just going for it, or lowering my expectations?
Ladies I have been reflecting on something that's been bothering me a lot. Women are not getting promoted to manager fast enough. I am up for promotion this year and it feels hard to get your name out
I feel like I’m not learning anything at my internship. It’s easy work and good pay though. Should I try to take on another project or multiple to try to gain more experience? But I was told it’ll be much harder and I would be expected to work longer hours and managers will be rough on me. Is this worth it when I go to school full-time as well while trying to balance a part time job? (The internship at D is expected to be part time but they might make me work more).
Salary negotiation tips / tactics?
What Podcasts should I be listening on my flight tomorrow? I feel like I’ve already listened to all the “big” ones, any hidden gems you guys love?
Would you rather work for an older, more established company with lots of employees, average salary and a slow climb of the ladder to leadership? OR Would you rather work for a relatively new startup with 2000 employees, GREAT salary and quick career progression, but alot of learning because it’s a startup.? P.S. both companies are known across the globe.
Looking for opportunities in Data science/Machine Learning stack.I have 4 yrs exp in analytics and in total 10+yrs exp in IT. Can anyone please refer for any openings. Appreciate your help. Thanks.
Thinking about joining tech. 🐠 What are the non-FAANG companies do you see the highest potential (thinking that joining FAANG today probably doesn’t provide that much upside)? From a preference standpoint, most interested in fin tech and health tech. But trying to solve for RSU potential above all
My H1B expires in 8 months and my company has not filed my GC. Can i start processing my H4 and EAD based on my spouses i140 right away or do i need to wait till Dec to start my H4 application.
Why does the third party recruiter I am using perform reference checks, and not HR/hiring manager from the firm I am interviewing with? Curious.
I have completed my technical interview and HR discussion package everything finalized yesterday with Accenture today when I check the portal it's showing due to their is no immediate Business demand, on - hold Kind of status I could see.
