I resigned from Cognizant recently and now the manager is saying they will raise a request for Canada work permit for me.

My question is how genuine can that promise be ? Anyone faced similar situation before ? How Canada work permits generally happen here in CTS and how many months it can take ?

How do you single 🐟 find time to meet people and get to know them when working these crazy hours? Feel like I'm putting that part of my life on hold due to my job, and it's kind of freaking me out 😣

I recently found out that I was being paid less than everyone in the team (more than 25% gap to more expe teammates, around 15% less than new hires)
We all had the same responsibilities, I consider I even had a heavier workload (talking in past tense since I very recently made an internal move).
Things to consider:
On a work visa
Non-white
Non-male
What would you recommend doing?
Keeping it to myself?
Speaking up? How? With who?
