Apply soon. Get Vegas people from here to refer you to their firms. Big 4s love the new blood of CPAs from other places !
^^ ok.. i think maybe ask anyone but that guy, because F that, lol.
@TA 1: “They don’t want me to win” - D.J. Khaled
@EY 2: I’m assuming since the Vegas offices steal work, there’s a lot more travel for associates at that office?
OP, reach out to any LinkedIn contacts. Many people would gladly refer you (except that guy).
Start looking now. Good luck
Depends on the need and now
A bit more background on myself.
My firm works with small SEC-Reporting clients. Also, I’ve been a senior for about a year now. Lastly, I’m hoping to land an SEC reporting accountant role within industry, or jump ship to a bigger firm (top 10).
Besides the casinos obviously and Zappos, what are the other B4 clients there?
@TA 1: Funny you say that. A former employee of my firm works at one of the Big 4 out there. I’ve been thinking of reaching out to him, however, I’m not sure how confidential he would be.
In fact, I’m certain that he would probably out me and put me in an awkward position here in my office.
Vegas offices kind of steal work from other offices as they don't have enough local clients to keep them all busy.
I guess it’s time to start hustling now then. I was going to wait until the first week of April to get on it.
Thanks, fam.
Why are you waiting? If you made your mind up....go look.
I’m looking, dawg. Recruiters are already apprehensive...”Your background looks great, but your timing isn’t the greatest. Being 8 weeks out or so is a bit tough.”
More or less the feedback I’ve been getting.
Which firm are you wanting to go to?
I’m open to any firm in the top 10, honestly. My hope is Big 4, but I understand it’s a small market.
Hmm. We always have a high demand for people at Deloitte in Vegas, not sure about the other firms. Plus I like my office here :)
Do you now? Is there a demand for people in audit coming from a smaller firm? Catching my drift? :)
Considering that we’ve had fly-ins during busy season, I would say yes!
