October 3rd is a common date in which auditors receive the necessary skills to become senior
On October 3rd he asked me what day it was
When you are an A2. That will be the first year you will have seen the entire audit process and then you will have an idea of how things will be when your a senior.
Once you realize who is drinking the kool-aid and who is not - then you have the necessary skills.
I learned so much my A2 year, especially during busy season and planning. Stay focused and you’ll be surprised by the growth.

Some people never gain the skills and then they make partner. Keep on keeping on
Don’t worry - you’ll start to feel more confident as a senior about a week before your manager promotion takes effect!
When you start having to teach others what to do you will get a better idea of what you know and don’t know. Then focus on learning what you don’t know so you can improve. Should start happening as a staff 2. Also at least half of people feel like they don’t know what they are doing at staff and senior level I think.
Make a list of what skills you think you need as a senior. Talk to someone who just made senior-likely they only are truly comfortable with one or two of those skills, and continually working on the others. If you're promoted after you fully know how to do a job 100%, you're being promoted too late.
You pick up the skills when you are forced to take on new tasks and to step up for it
You'll never truly know it all. Between new work paper, change in clients and the same things constantly changing. But one day you will look back and realize you know so much more now than you did when you started. You will know how to use resources to figure out what you dont know.
You got it.
Ps. When you reach senior you will have new challenges which will cause you to self doubt again.
A1 is when you learn how to do. A2 is when you learn why you do, and the pieces start to click.
I think this why I struggled. For me knowing why would help with the how to do
