Currently work in human capital consulting as a senior, sitting at 95k with a 20% bonus yearly. Looking at promotion at end of year. However have 2 offers in hand from Booz Allen (Associate for 115k) and Fannie Mae (HR Consultant/HRBP for 115k plus 10k sign on). My goal is to be a CHRO so I figure I need to jump internal at some point. I am agonizing over this decision, as I really like my coworkers and autonomy and think the money may be better in consulting. Thoughts on this?

I'd personally wait for a better opportunity and more money. No need to jump for such a small pay increase of you enjoy your current team and firm. That's not a huge difference in pay at all.

like

To put it in perspective, every jump I've done has been for 30k+. Otherwise it's not worth it unless you're leaving a toxic work environment

Sounds like Struggles

like

Speaking for BAH unless you’re a Senior Associate you won’t be eligible for a yearly bonus. Also 115k is on the lower end of the Associate band. Depending on your YOE it could be anywhere from 105k - 200k

Is higher end of that band reserved for more technical roles? This one would be strategy and change within human capital

Come to D, we are paying for HC talent

Hadn’t thought about Deloitte

That’s your YOE?

That seems low but depends on experience/market.

We are but I think this is lower than most. If you go to a big 4 you can pull 120k (assuming no MBA from a target school).

Why is it every time I see someone from your firm I think: Heidrick & Snuggles. And it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

We are trying to rebrand to Heidrick to avoid this haha

Hey folks, hope you’re all having a not-so-blue Monday. I’m new to EY and was wondering if the firm does annual raises? I joined as an SC and wondering if my base salary will be adjusted annually by a fixed % for inflation or a variable % based on performance? Or if the only way to increase my base pay is to get promoted to manager? Thanks for your help!

We only have one significant competitor in our industry, and it’s likely my best option. Love my company, been with them for years, but I’m really struggling with how frustrating this situation is.

Hi Fishes, I am new to this variable included pay structure. From my first company to current I am getting fixed pay only. So, I know how to calculate my in-hand salary with that. I can see here 10% is variable pay. I have some questions,
1. How much will be in-hand salary?
2. Is there any hidden component which may deduct from my salary?
3. How variable pay will be paid? monthly or quarterly or annually?
4. How much variable pay we will get by Average?

Hi all,

After the final interview, HR reached out and said they would like to extend an offer. HR gave a ball park of 135k - 145k base with about 15k in sign-on equity and 20k annual bonus.

After a couple of days, HR person came back with with 125k base and 20k annual bonus. No sign-on equity anymore. What should I do given that these numbers seem way lower than the initial range provided? HR claimed it’s because of “market conditions”.

If you decide to move down a level in your next role, for learning purposes and for more wlb, is that frowned upon by future employers and looks bad on your resume?
