Highlights/LOL: having an elderly customer compliment my hair. This was a highlight because it was sweet of her and she was very earnest, and an LOL moment because there is absolutely nothing special about my hair and I badly need a haircut. Lowlight: a customer paying for an $8 purchase in grimy change.

I had this heartwarming moment when a customer told me I had the best customer service they’d ever experienced. I wasn’t expecting it at all, but it really made me feel good about what I do.

A customer was mad at me because they said that their fertilizer smelled bad and thought we gave them expired fertilizer. If you know you know.

Interested in everyone’s opinions on replica luxury. I ask because, as noted in the previous thread re: Chanel’s price increases, the quality of authentic luxury bags is going way down while the price increases consistently. Specifically Chanel and LV. I’m fascinated in the online rep community and it looks like rep quality has increased exponentially (with genuine materials and 1:1 markings, stitching, hardware, etc). What’s your argument for or against replicas?

Any one relocating to banglore?

My wife and I are moving to Boston from overseas (we’re from Italy and we’ve recently won the diversity visa green card lottery).

We are looking to rent a 1BR starting in January, ideally for ~$3k/month. I’ll be working in the downtown area.

Do you recommend we go for a serviced/luxury apartment (e.g. Montaje, 345 Harrison, etc.) or hire a broker to get a “normal” apartment?

Any managed buildings recommendations within our budget? Also, what are some good brokers we could work with?

Thanks!

Thank you FB family. After a two year hunt for the right opportunity, I am happy to announce that I have accepted an offer at FAANG (TC - 280) . The road wasn’t easy especially the last 2 months. I took the interview overseas (basically 2am - 3 am calls), was recovering from a surgery and finally contracted covid. I got some good advice from folks over here CONTD...

You did an interview and your interviewer apologized that the travel time 180minutes was much higher than 30minutes scheduled time for the interview and that It could have been done remotely, but she has to follow the process. I am still waiting for feedback though.

Is this just a humane demonstration?

NDAs - signed my first one as a part of a severance agreement. thinking about leaving an honest review for this company, but unsure about the liabilities that come with this. (NDA mentioned no defamation) leaning on the side of letting it go, but this employer sucked BAD and i want others to know. ik its hard to give a straight answer bc it depends on the agreement, but wheres the line between bad mouthing vs your honest experience?

Back when I was getting started in the food world, I worked flipping burgers at In-n-Out. A man came in and said the burgers he had gotten weren’t right. He dumped the food on the counter and then he started throwing them back behind the counter. We gave him a refund and then his demeanor completely changed. He was calmer and he told us to have a great day as he left us to clean up the mess he made.

Once when I was waiting tables, I had a guy pay me cash. The change was 45 cents, which I didn't give back to him because like who wants that. He then asked where the change was, and when I explained that I didn't give back the loose change, he made a big stink about how dollars and cents matter and didn't leave me a tip. He was a republican staffer on capitol hill.
