Is it normal for a Partner to tell me “you know this will delay your promotion by 6 months” a day before my STD for mental health reasons? (P.S. He assumed I took the leave for mental health reasons although I never mentioned that to him). He also said “people like you leave and never come back so make sure you talk to your sponsors before making any decision, there are people who are excited to work with you”.. the conversation is on replay in my head
I feel like Work Well Be Well is a complete joke. How on earth can any firm talk about mental or physical health when we are working 15 hours a day for weeks on end?

I'm looking for some advice / guidance/ideas for growth opportunities from here. I'd like to hear about good experiences and bad experiences people have had in this industry, where did you start, how did you grow from there, what licenses do you have, ect.

Besides pay/benefits, what are changes that happen when you move from a C to M levels? Do you have access/exposure to different tools that help you do your job/take on bigger responsibilities?
If a company matches 50% of 401k contributions to 6% of salary, does that mean they’ll put in 6% if I put in 12% or will they put in max of 3% on my 6% contribution? Curious what their wording means

Currently interviewing with Google and working with a recruiter in a specific function, is it frowned upon to keep applying to stuff if it’s relevant to my experience (outside recruiters function)....
Real talk 2: if you decide to have children, it’s entirely possible you will not like the child at first (or at various points). It’s a huge decision, and having complex feelings about the matter is completely valid
Do the breadth of exit opportunities in industry start to diminish after reaching manager at big four? I have this preconception that leaving as a manager will be harder than as a senior but no idea if true or not.
What diversity and inclusion initiatives/programs have been the most effective at your firm?
Hi everyone. I’m looking for new work actually. Currently working but I’m looking for more opportunities as my current role is a contract one. Got a verbal offer from a big 4 a month ago, discussed salary expectations 3 weeks ago, still no offer letter. Firm has to let me know it should be coming soon. Are these normal timelines?
So I typically don’t answer the EEO questions at the end of applications that ask for race and gender. Lately I’ve noticed companies following up via email for this information after I submit the application. Am I the only one who does this? Does it even matter? Any thoughts on the follow up emails asking for the information after the application has already been submitted?
Who wants to work in Risk Advisory in ATL, Bham, or Nashville at a firm where you can be your authentic self, and actually have a work/life balance? DHG is looking for good people. Growing 25-35%/yr
Key West vs Miami for a baby moon in December / January? Any Marriott recommendations for a low key getaway in either location?
I went through a pretty rigorous interview process for a marketing project manager but ultimately wasn't given job. Though most of the feedback was positive, the other candidate had more direct experience with the job responsibilities (digital assets, social media, etc.) My job/company dabbles in digital but it's primarily traditional media. How do I again the experience if I'm limited by the type of work we do?
Does anyone casually mention their menstrual cycle at work? Like if you’re not feeling well because you have cramps and someone asks if you’re sick do you say, “I have cramps?"
Building off a thread from a few days ago on how long you waited to consultant an RE. If I am under 35 and have not been trying for 12 months, do I need to spin it to my doctor like I have? It seems bad to not give my doc the real info but I also don’t want to be turned away and I think I’ve heard you have to tell them it’s been 12 mo to get insurance to cover it. Any insight?
Whats the promotion levels in GDS - US Taxation?
Just got reported in another bowl for making a joke about COVID tests Who takes this app that seriously?
I've seen folks around here ask for referrals to companies. I'm looking for a referral to KPMG's Data & Analytics practice at an equivalent level to EY manager (currently S3 here on track for promotion this upcoming year). How does that process usually work on this app? I'm open to other consulting firms as well but already have referrals for most of my targets. I specialize in AI & ML and my differentiator is being able to effectively translate between executives and data scientists.
