Any recs for CIPM study books?
For those who have passed the CIPM exam, what is it like (and how does it compare to the CIPP/US exam)?
For those in AM: thoughts on CAIA, CIPM, etc?? I was wondering if these will actually help vs. just waste of money.
Just lateraled and looks like I’ll be taking on a sizeable privacy practice from an associate who left recently. Any benefit to CIPP and CIPM training/certification as a lawyer? In DC if that matters.
Looking to specialize in privacy and was considering getting the CIPP/CIPM/CIPT. I already have my CISSP and CISA. Is it worth it?
OTS is growing rapidly and leadership has asked us SMs to assist with recruiting. One of our needs is for cybersecurity and data privacy consultants interested in M&A e.g. CISSP, CISA, CIPP, CIPM, etc
Question: which privacy & data protection cert has highest return and value to your career (CIPM, CIPT, CIPP, CDPSE, DLP tool cert)?
Which privacy cert would you go for, CIPM or CIPT? Debating which I should test for, since I have competency in both. Which has better ROI for career, or in greater demand in industry?
Planning to take the CIPP and CIPM. Will be doing self-study. What is the “book” everyone refers to for studying? Is it just the “study guide” the IAPP sells? Does anyone know if the study guides and sample questions you can buy on amazon are sufficient to use for passing? Appreciate any and all advice.
Privacy fish - Anyone taken the CIPM and can share what the exam is like? Content outline seems like application of standard consulting approach, so how do they test it on an exam?
I interned and started my career all within the confines of quarantine. Any tips for standing out when all you’ve known is remote work?
Covid made me realize____ Me: other than work, family, friends, I have no purpose. I have no personal goals. What is the purpose of my life? Single 45 F 🐠 no kids.
Sick of biglaw but I want to stay one more annual bonus season. I’m seriously burned out and would like to shift gears but I’d like to leave after ending my 5th year. I am potentially looking to just try and hide/keep my head low to avoid work as much as possible/“slack off” and wonder how possible is to do that for a year without getting fired? I aim to maximize vacay time, and just in general try to avoid any work I don’t absolutely have to do.
I’ve got a PWC FDD case study interview soon. Any tips on how best to prepare/what to expect? I’ve already read through other posts and they’ve mentioned to understand the types of due diligence adjustments that occur, EBITDA adjustments, and QoE analysis. Can someone suggest a good resource to prepare? (Apart from me googling) Thank you!
Does anyone have any info on Willkie Farr as far as the culture of the NY office? Specifically, the corporate practice group.
Reminder to check up on your Jewish colleagues and see if they’re ok. Regardless of your political position, I’m seeing them endure a new wave of hate and violence for things they personally didn’t do — much like us.
pwc foreign Global Mobility offices (IAS) have apparently been asked to confirm if they will remain with pwc or be part of a sale of the GLOBAL MOBILITY practice (presumably the US one). Seems odd, to say the least. I feel for my fellow IAS colleagues (I’m sure the partners past and present may get a sweet bonus / retention payment … others 🤔??).
Has anyone pivoted from consulting to IB or vice versa? How quickly were you able to pick up the skills for the other role’s interview process / career?
How long does it take to get a green card from filing the I-140 and I-485 concurrently under EB-1 for an EU national? Do I have to wait for GC to move jobs? Or can I move with EAD?
I don’t like dogs. Don’t find them cute, they smell horrible, and how do people let them lick their faces?! Ewww
Anyone find it worthwhile to get the PMP? Any benefits in terms of new job or project opportunities, compensation, promotion potential, etc.?
After traditional investment banking, I can safely say banking is better than consulting in regards to prestige, income, and sophistication of work. While consulting has better hours, nicer culture.
What’s the freelance world in Asia like? Are freelancers in demand like the US? Or is it totally different over there? And how are remote freelance gigs these days?
Likely leaving K, here are my exit ops: OP1: $135K base - Work in third party risk mgmt at a TMT company (~70% bump) and get out of audit. Base is being negotiated, but going off first offer. OP2: $110K base + $15K sign on - MGR in IT Risk Consulting at a smaller public accounting firm (~40% bump) stay in audit. Leaning toward OP1, but what sort of career options are there moving forward as a TPRM analyst lead?
I am planning to do masters in cybersecurity . I migrated from India where I did my under grad. 35 M working as M at Big 4 with 12 YOE and making 170k. I feel doing a masters from US will add to my knowledge and some brand value to my education space in my resume . Any good school recommendations for online masters ? Was thinking between CMU , Berkeley , Georgie tech . Would prefer something that doesn’t need GMAT, less than 100k total tution and good brand name . Thank you. !!!
Not to beat a dead horse - anyone get a cheaper rent lease renewal due to covid? Have people had rent go up?? How can we bargain here?
