Debated on this for some time now, just curious as to what others think - Who is more important to an agency/Brokerage? Producers bringing premium/clients in the door or the operations team working to retain and service the account?

Who knows

I think it's a symbiotic relationship. Client service is what keeps the customers and creates a good reputation in the market to drive demand. But ultimately to grow and even maintain your business due to unavoidable attrition you need a sales team bring in those new clients. If I had to pick one I would say client service.

Both are important but producers are usually put on a pedestal.

I’ve been working for my State Farm agency as a team member for 2 years. I am licensed in property and casualty as well as life and health, but only make $13 an hour. I technically can make bonuses but I’m not supposed to dig into a sale and I have to send it to a sales rep (I am service and retention mostly). My boss also has me running a retired agents office until a new one is chosen (its an hour away with no pay increase or mileage pay). Also, no benefits! Should I start job searching?

Has anyone ever asked to renegotiate their salary after starting a job? I’m 2 months into my new job and I have far more responsibilities than what I was told. It’s a lot different than what was relayed in the posting and during the interviews. Additionally, they hired my counter part in as a senior manager which is at least $30k more than what I make. My peer has more experience so I expect that but I feel that I should be paid more, however I don’t want to leave a bad impression… any advice?
