When do most people quit audit?
Happy week! Stay positive.. 👍
Hi All, My sister has done Computer Science engineering Bachelor degree and has 5 years of work experience in India. She is applying for MBA at https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/mba/full-time-mba/ and https://kelley.iu.edu/programs/full-time-mba/academics/majors-minors/marketing.html. Her overall goal is to get into Software Product management. Any suggestions if any of these MBA’s can open path in the desired space or if she is better of doing an MS in Comp engg. to further develop deeper Technology skills. Thanks

Freelance. It’s a better life.
Agree 🥰
How much more are you talking about? Nothing guarantees you your job either so might as well take the leap of faith if it makes sense (after taxes and benefits)
Oh wow, there’s too many unknowns. What will the boss be like in either the current job or the gig you want to leave for.?What is driving your need for high salary – if it’s (e.g ) to put a deposit down for an apartment, then go for it. If it’s not going to make that much of a difference to your current lifestyle goes, then maybe stick. What will the commute be like etc? so hard to compare. What is your gut saying?
They say they "should" be able to offer you more? That would not be good enough. Show it to me in writing. What about health insurance, retirement contributions, and PTO? Assuming no PTO as a gig worker and retirement contributions would be in your own? You should be paid more as a freelancer since you're giving up a host of benefits that come with being a FT employee. Make sure you're getting paid what they promise. Will they ask you to sign any kind of non-compete?
They're definitely paying well over what I could be making in 6 months at my current job. And no, I'm not being asked to sign a non-compete. Thanks for sharing these thoughts though. Gives me some more points to think about!
The freelance life is a thing of its own. If you're able to do it, and can afford a month or two without certainty, why not? I have a family and cannot imagine taking that risk but if I were young and had no responsibilities tying me down, I would take the leap. Especially because it sounds like you've got some amazing partners to work with. As MAS1 said, get everything in writing. You don't wanna be messed with later.
With this economy, 💯 stay in your job. It's like the saying,"Don't fix what's not broken".
Better off slowly starting your own business while you are in your current job.
Nothing beats good consistent money. After your freelance contract ends, who know how long it will take to land the next one
I’m an advocate for freelancing or consulting. Esp if these recruiters always have clients/ work. I say go for it. I got my most successful salary increases by jumping ship. Also, if one offers perm usually your salary will be higher or at least match. I’m consulting now & I’m remote. If I get an offer the salary range with bonuses. Is actually higher than my consulting rate. Also, companies lay off in Q1 as well as holidays.
