It’s less about how much you make, and more about finding a place that’s within your budget. The market is crazy right now, even people making $400k are struggling to buy homes because of the bidding wars and cash offers.
With high interest rates and high property tax, you may be better off renting…also, my economics professor once told me as a rule of thumb …the max you should spend on a house.. is like 2.5x your annual pay.. again not sure of the rationale behind that number… but just saying
With this crazy housing market now, I also wonder how much I should be making as a single female with 6 YOE
Lol now you’re just showing off 👀
Jk that sounds like you got your ground covered
I think the cost of living/housing prices are CRAZY inflated rn as others have said which is definitely skewing things. I think as long as you feel like you're comfortably saving, you're good.
Yeah, it’s unfortunate :/ I currently make $110k base in California but really want to move to Dallas and my comp will be adjusted down to $85k. Not sure if it’s worth it
Wait like 6 months
Will do! Deciding to Airbnb for the time being until things calm down
It depends on your tastes. $85K in Dallas is enough to buy A home. But is it the home you want to buy in the area you want?
