Yes when we're asked to work long hours. We wanted to have more time away from work so we took the lower salary

like

Absolutely. I find it harder for attorneys to move up in the firm as well.

likefunny

Of course we do. Many people came here for lower hours compared to law firms and/or more business/finance experience, but there's a huge pay differential between big 4 and mid-size to big law.

JDs, maybe. JD/LLMs, probably less so. I’m in the latter group and make $145k. I expect to both outearn and outlast (in our respective firms) most people I know in Big Law over the next few years.

What is your rank, service line, and location?

Agree with pwc1. I make 150k which is abt 6-70% of big law salary at my level. I also feel that I work abt 70% compared to my bug law friends

I received a verbal offer from Goldman Sachs and after negotiating the salary I have yet to hear back. Is that normal? It’s been almost two weeks since verbal offer. Or is it safe to assume I’ve been ghosted by the recruiter?

Decision - I was out the door of my nationwide ins dfense firm. Was going to top local firm with a lot more clout where everything would be private pay and I’d be more on bigger exposure cases. However, my firm outmatched the new firm, made a much better bonus structure, and said I could do more work with their complex bus lit group. I’d still likely do about 50 percent ins defense but I really like the partners I work for, and I handle own cases/take depos, and get autonomy. Am I right to stay?

Profits went up by 45% or something like that, sales went up since FY15, but we only funded 92% of our bonus instead of 97% like last year. Can anybody provide insight into how bonuses will now work?

Interviewed with cognizant. Got offered a 65% base increase and target bonus is around 30%. Overall increase is about 100%. Go or no go? For context its going to be their bfs consulting practice. My concern is the culture and future exit opportunites.
