Any attorneys ready to leave big 4? When is the best time and what are our options? After 1, 2, or 3 years? Big law or other law firms?

Are there any Marcum people on here or am I the only one? Has anyone at big 4 even heard of us? Trying to determine how far down the totem pole we are.

Brutal honesty needed. My daughter is entering PA this month (Big 4). She is beautiful in a more sensual, overt way (although not unprofessional). I’m worried about women hating her and men not taking her seriously. I’m a sole practitioner and hoping that things have gotten better for women since I was at PW. Being a woman was hard enough, but being an attractive woman I felt like I had a target on my back 24/7. Curious to hear all perspectives, positive or negative.

Anyone ever gone from B4 to a local firm? What was the transition like? Pros/cons? Considering making the jump as a second year associate for more work / life balance & to see more diverse tax issues, but want to know if the grass is truly greener.

I got call from HR of one of Big 4 firm. She had such an irritating tone for a HR. When I told my expected CTC, she went on to persuade me to quote lower number since they don't have budget. I even came down to a point since I wanted to get Big 4 Opportunity. She kept on saying a number which was not even 15% of my current package. Finally, she said she's not going to process the profile with an almighty attitude. Such an arrogant tone from Big 4 HR. I wonder this MNCs have idiots as HRs

Any South East Asia/ Singapore B4 partner here, willing to trade notes on how is life at your firm?

Q re: "executive presence". Joined B4 in my mid 30s, on Partner track by 42, made numbers and top ratings ever since. Now at 46 been told I lack executive presence, when I'd been told I had it every year before. I'm a female 🐠, have gained weight (genetic condition) and obviously aged. How often does this happen? I'm leaving for a CIO role in industry now, but still disappointed that I was rejected because of this (and yes, exec presence was the reason I was told I wouldn't make Partner).

How much do big 4’s pay for a first year tax senior manager (CPA; not a JD/LLM) in the Bay Area?
