I feel this deeply. It’s hard to stay calm when someone else’s shortcut creates real pain for a customer. I’d push for a written “no promise” script and flag that incident to your manager. What’s stopping your team from holding that line?

I wish our company had a proper policy to hold people accountable for their mistakes. Instead, the focus is always on just apologizing and stating the next steps. Unfortunately, that approach doesn’t address the full issue or lead to real solutions.
