Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

Having the same experience in my restructuring group. Work has been unpredictable the last few weeks (some days with minimal and other days are fire drills). The group has been trying to incorporate associates as much as possible, but the partners are pretty much waiting for the flood at this point. Told us to enjoy the slow days because it’s coming 😂
I can only speak for my firm/group, which has been adamant about job security and keeping all of our associates. Big law in NYC for reference.
Bankruptcy? Just wait for it; you'll get work. And tell your corporate clients to apply for a tax filing extension to preserve their ability dump their tax liabilities in bankruptcy. The IRS hasn't said yet whether the automatic July extension applies to whether taxes are timely filed for bankruptcy purposes. Better safe than sorry.
It'll come. I'm in real estate and even though it's dead right now, the loan and lease modifications are coming. I just hope they come soon enough to keep me from getting laid off.
You can always make people notice. Email your groundwork to everyone in your team, cc any related practice group leaders who may be interested. Expressly state in the email that you are aware work will be coming soon and that you want to make sure everyone in the practice group is ready. You might also cc your managing partner, just so everyone knows your practice group is ready.
Ramping up. I hope the work comes in before any of us get laid off and I especially hope the clients can pay in full.
Lots of ramping up going on.
