I want to say absolutely not, but that would be a lie. I do feel a little guilty whenever I’m off for more than a day at a time. Not even sure why. Team is more than able to manage, and I do everything I can to prep for my time off.
Well, I'll say it. Absolutely not. I have spent the majority of my career working over 40 hours a week, missing events, postponing trips, and it never once boosted my career in a way that I can say it was worth it. Take it from me, don't wait until your late 50s to start disconnecting from work and living your life.
