Do you feel like you have someone in upper management who advocates for you? If so, can you share how you found, then built this relationship to get to that point? I am seeing that relationships are just as important as craft

My boss definitely advocates for me. She has showed me emails she has sent on my behalf and she is always speaking very highly of me. Building relationships is very important.

My boss doesn't really advocate for me or anyone on our team. Sometimes it almost feels like he is a mouthpiece for corporate and doesn't really care how we think or feel about anything. It's unfortunate, I hear so many people have mentors and people that guide them in their career and I've never really had that!

Where are my home cooks at?

I'm entertaining guests and picked up a black summer truffle on a whim, trying to decide what to do with it. I've got some rib eyes and will be making mashed potato as well (among other things).

After sous vide and searing the steaks I was going to cook fresh rosemary and thyme in some butter before spooning them over the steaks while resting to heat them up a bit immediately before serving.

I think I've got my truffle 101 now so sounds like (cont)

Is it a good idea to accept LinkedIn invites from people you don't know or don't send any type of note along with their invite? I'm all for networking, but shouldn't a stranger send a note saying why they want to connect with you? (i.e. we work in the same industry and thought it might be good to connect?)
