Graduated in 2020, wanted to be a graphic designer, took a job at a startup in a social media role. The boss called me the "r" word for not handling entire 13-ish accounts roster well by myself. I quit. Found a role as social media specialist. Realized (again) that I hate social media. Moved to in-house mktg manager, only to be a glorified graphic designer / someone to call the city to cut down trees. I job hopped too much, I feel my portfolio is empty. How do I restart again? I feel defeated.

What are some good interview questions for this level and type of role? I have a few in mind, but would love to pick the group's brain as I have never interviewed anyone for a Director role before.

I went through six rounds of interviews including putting together a 30 minute presentation which I presented to the whole team. The whole process took about six weeks. I turned down another lead position at a different company waiting. After all that they told me that hiring for this role was on hold until further notice. At the end of the day it’s business, but I am left feeling like I wasted my time (and theirs.)Totally confused and disheartened by this process. Anyone else experiencing this?

I’m looking to take on more of an art director and creative director role, remotely. I can attach my website and a portfolio if anyone can help out. I have been designing professionally now for just over 15 years now. I work very quickly and very well with other team members. I also take on freelance work. I’m married with 2 kids so the more work the better.
