I have always seen that as a good thing and a candidate that knows their worth. At some point, you have to respect it. It just sucks to lose a good candidate when we don't have the budget for what they want. I don't think it makes them a troublemaker at all.
I tend to agree with this viewpoint!
I wouldn’t call it troublemaking! Knowing your worth is a good thing as long as you stay open to conversation rather than ultimatums.

If standing firm on what I want is seen as troublemaking, then maybe I’m okay with that. To me, it’s not about being difficult, it’s about knowing my worth and valuing the work I bring to the table.
