Anyone at BlackRock could advise me : I recently received an offer from them and background check is 75% done as per the recruiter and I can hand in my notice to the current employer. Do you recommend I should do it now or wait for background check to complete successfully? I have not done this before, so any guidance much appreciated. TIA! BlackRock

I found Amex gold and platinum to be most useful as I was looking for the points last year. The BA one may be a good option too. There are some cashback ones but nothing that will wow you.
Even the best cards will have worse offerings than most in the US. That’s just how the UK & Europe roll I guess.
If you find something better than the mentioned above, shout out!
Thank you! Will do. My feeling is along the same lines as yours- that Amex is the best option to go with, so appreciate your thoughts
Same here. Moved to London about a year ago. Went straight for Amex Gold. After 3 months I switched to Platinum as sounded most reasonable comparing to my US Platinum... massive disappointment totally not worth the money except for travel insurance and airport lounge access. Gold card has more benefits and it’s way cheaper! I wanted to love platinum but huge regret! Get the gold one
I’ve been using AmEx Gold for my daily expenses since a couple of years, quite like it so far. I have the BA one for bigger purchase if I need to spread it over few months, very handy.
Nice, OP generally you want to have high rewards card for daily expenses and perks, and a low APR card if you’re going to spread out purchases over a few months. High rewards cards are always ridiculous with their APRs...
Also not sure how much of travel benefits you are about to use for this £500 lol
