I have no choice but to work until I’m 70. Despite my best efforts to get diagnosed at a younger age, no one listened until I was 44, and that is when I got my ADHD diagnosis. Being diagnosed this late in the game had lasting consequences such as job and financial insecurity for many years because so many behavioral health professionals refused to heed my requests for an evaluation.
I’ve been working in healthcare for 20 years and I’m being treated like this? WTF?
Anyhow, I’m digressing…but yeah, I’m now saving and investing about 1/3 of my gross income and really being aggressive with my investments so I’ll have enough for a 30 year retirement (just in case), starting at 70.

Awww I’m sorry gee that’s so frustrating! You’re not alone I’m sure I’ll have t work til I’m over that sge as well and tbh I do not think I would be ok not going to work it’s just my personality
Yes, and I do think there should be much higher wages, not only that but the autonomy to CHOOSE whether or not you decide to retire. Many cannot due to situations and such and that to me is criminal. But yes, there is also that sense of purpose. I just think you should be able to choose where you decide to set your focus on in life, because you’re only here once.

Definitely!!! I agree with you on that
I don't think there's any question that a lot of people will have to work beyond what used to be typical retirement age. Companies don't offer pensions the way they used to, and people who were promised pensions often don't get them anyway. Late stage capitalism is going to exert a heavy price on an aging population, that's just the reality of it.

It’s sad truly !
I feel like at this rate no one will be able to retire

Right now crazy!!!
I feel like I will work beyond retirement age...more so because I will have nothing to do. I've checked my estimated SS check and my retirement account estimates...Im on track so far. Even if ss were to cut off (there have always been talks of the well running dry)...my retirement alone should be a liveable wage.
