If you switched jobs in 2021 and aren’t any happier now and or feel even worse than you did before, read this.
I see it time and time again in my coaching practice: If you change your environment without addressing the underlying issues, the underlying issues follow you. Or, as the adage goes, “Wherever you go, there you are.”

For what it’s worth, I’ve been a lawyer for 10 years (stereotypically golf-heavy profession) and I work in a very large office. None of my golfing was ever “business”related. No golfing with the executives, clients or politicians. I do golf with some of the guys my age / seniority level in the office, so you could consider that “networking” maybe, but it’s not really advancing my career. We just drink a few beers, enjoy being out on the course and happily play friendly bogie golf. So, if you play, play for fun. You’re unlikely to become really good at golf, get invited to play with the Managing Partner and “get made.”
Both. I often golf with clients, but I thoroughly enjoy it either way.

What’s your handicap?
Sales guy here. Golf is a fairly big part of some of my relationships with my biggest and most important clients.
You’ll learn more about someone on the golf course than you likely will many other places. You have 4+ hours to shoot the shit.
People buy from people they like and don’t have to talk business with at all times as well.
Definitely to network. That's the only reason I started taking my practices seriously when I was in college and saw the president of my school out of the terrain

Neither?
I wold say for both. It started as for fun but then I started meeting so many people doing it that I really took advantage of it so i's like two birds with one stone
Strictly for networking honestly since this is a safe space. I can finally say that I loathe golfing. It's so boring but I make really good connections so there's something
I haven't played golf but I've been strongly advised by one of my colleagues to get started because of the amount of people in powerful positions that play. This might be another sign for me to start
As someone who gets paid by commission, I can say that golf is one of the reasons why my bills are paid. Because golf is a slow sport you get an opportunity to build a rapport with clients

Any beginners wanna learn golf together?
I wouldn't bother if you're not even somewhat interested in the game because you think you'd love it. I don't think it's so important to any industry that you shouldn't strive to learn it even if you don't want to play beyond that level.
