Depends on the area. For example, near ASU in Tempe, it's pretty liberal, as you'd expect. Parts of the suburbs (New River, Queen Creek, Sun City West) are MAGAland.
I live in the suburbs and am not confident that’s the case.
It used to be heavily conservative, but things have been steadily shifting over the past few years. I think it's still more red than blue a the moment, but hoping that will change by 2024.
It depends on how you define Phoenix. Is it Maricopa County, Phoenix Metro Area, or Phoenix City proper? Phoenix itself is relatively purple as far as big cities go its not as blue, but as you move farther out from the city, it gets more red. Phoenix Metro Area as a whole is actually pretty split in party identification, but those who identify as independent are a little more red than most independents. I think I got that from Pew. 538 has a good visualization. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/republicans-democrats-cities/
I feel like it does and most surrounding cities do as well. I think Tempe may be more liberal
For sure, I think it's become one of the hubs tbh
Phoenix is more purple, which IMO offers a nice balance. People are pretty good about respecting other people’s political stance or at least withholding from pushing their views onto others.
Yes unfortunately
That has been my experience as well.
Currently in Phoenix and we’re all just waiting for Trump to seize power
Well, not entirely. There are several areas in Phoenix that isn't.
The Phoenix area is pretty much purple, the suburbs tend lean more red and the Phoenix and Tempe tend to lean more blue, pretty much even with a slight lean red
I think Maricopa county is pretty mix and split. Most of the rest of the state I would say is pretty conservative leaning in my opinion.
Yes it does. I live in central Phoenix which is a wonderful bubble that makes me forget that Kari Lake is going to be our governor. My family all lives in the east valley (Gilbert and Queen Creek mostly) and it is definitely magaland. The west valley might be better because it’s more diverse but I don’t spend a ton of time there.
I can say I think it depends where you live, downtown Phoenix and Tempe as a few mentioned are more Liberal, in terms of voting this year and every year main cities in every state lean more to the left and rural areas lean more to the right (not really looking for a debate here- just looking at voting records from the past 10-15 years), I will mention that I lean more liberal and feel very comfortable where I live and think it's all about finding someplace where ever you move where you fit in
