It might be tough to get a start remote or in Texas but Investment Management/Banking can pay well above $200k after 4-6 years. I haven’t worked in M&A but from what my friends have said my job in IM is much less stressful and more advisory than a lot of other areas.
Private Equity could get you in house at a PE shop which could pay a lot. IM is focused on mutual funds, private funds, separately managed accounts, etc. There are investment managers and investment banks that focus on PE so I’m sure you could make the transition from a firm. From Texas or remote PE might be easier than IM, which really has bigger offices in NY, Boston, DC and San Francisco. There may be some in Texas as well but I don’t know off the top of my head.
For remote or Texas above 200k tech is your best bet. You’re going to want privacy or product counsel experience and to be at at least 5YOE
Agreed!
