Hell no! Do NOT retake it. Totally disagree with Accn1. Are you kidding me? You got a 750! I didn’t say this above but congratulations! That’s a superb score! If you got a 2 on IR then yes you may want to think about a retake (if you have time, and don’t feel worn out by the GMAT). You’re an Econ major with some good classes in undergrad - you’re fine. I don’t even need to know about your gpa or work history - all I know is that your gmat is a non issue at this point.
After a certain point, which I’m 100% sure that you’re at, you want to stop worrying about the gmat and focus on your application, essays, and recommendations. You will NOT be rejected because of your score - my guarantee. You will, however, be rejected if you don’t demonstrate fit in your essay and overall app. Don’t doubt yourself. There are folks who will convince you that even a Q49 isn’t good enough (which happened to me and I got into 3 top 5 programs!) Good luck!
Not really. You have a solid score. Plus, shit ton of sloan folks will have Q49+ with not such high verbals. You’ll actually stand out
Thanks IBM1! Appreciate the insight and encouragement. Congrats on those acceptances
Disagree. 44Q is on the low end and at a school like Sloan which is academically rigorous, may cause the ad com to hesitate. Unless you were quant undergrad, I’d retake or supplement with quant courses
Econ undergrad? Took challenging college classes such as stats and econometrics. Unfortunately I feel like I’m topping out near 44/45 Q
I didn’t mean to be discouraging at all- I got a 44 on quant as well. Just based off the research I did/ talking to my GMAT tutor, it’s definitely on the low end of what they want to see. 750 is obviously an amazing score! I think with Econ undergrad you’re solid.
What was your Econ undergrad GPA?
3.7 and change overall gpa. Econ specific gpa around 3.6 probably. Top 15ish undergrad
@IBM 1 👏👏 agree with you 100% on everything you said here. The only thing I’d add, and I’m basing this on my many conversations with an adcom from an M7 who I happen to be related to (lucky or unlucky me), is that at the end of the day what matters most about your GMAT is the total score (in your case the 750) because that is what the school reports out (on their website, to alumni, and to the rankings). All things being equal (your application/background/experience/ literally all things equal) they will always lean toward admitting the person with a 750 and a 44Q over the person with a 730 or 740 and a 50Q. Conversely the person with 750 and a Higher Q score than yours does not necessarily have a better chance of getting in. At that point it becomes more about fit. Your score is already above the median for all M7 programs. Focus on perfecting the rest of your app. It’ll be a much better use if you’d time
