Hi Fishes, I am bit confused to pick the role in KPMG lighthouse as Sr Cloud Data architect or Saama technology as a Project lead. Money wise it is not a big difference. As someone who took a f100 vp role I can tell you, the change is about longevity and people encouragement.
Much easier in consulting to work with motivated people. Much of my time is creating motivation for an idea
Yes, i’ve noticed the same
There is almost always a challenge, and it rarely comes looking for you like in Consulting.
You’ll see the pain points to solve at quarterly earning calls, trends in the industry & hurdles faced by your competitive and new entrants to the industry.
Takes more proactivity to do stuff in industry as you need to recognize the challenge and get ahead of the problem.
I’m about to be in your position in one week. Stick it out for a bit. Find a way to make it interesting.
I’ve heard this from some friends. After a while they all find other ways to spend time and love it.
Exactly - combination of get internally driven at work (find a problem and fix it) and learn to enjoy your life with the extra time 🙂
FWIW, I was worried about being bored for the first month or two. Now I’m at about a year and it’s great. Give it a chance!
